Mabon

Mabon falls on one of the dates from September 20th-23rd
depending on the year, and is the Fall Equinox. This is known as the Harvest festival
because the seeds that the God left at Lughnassad is now being harvested for food
during the long winter.

This was traditionally the time of the Eleusian mysteries, which appear to focus on Persophones decent into the underworld to reign as Queen until summer.

An irish custom states thatBlackberries which are sacred to Brigid should be picked between now and Samhain or left on the bush for the pookas.

Mabon is the time when the Goddess enters cronehood and is a time of balance between light and dark.
