The Men and Women getting ready for the Maypole Erection

Men's Mysteries
We get together to discuss the plans for this weekend's Mayday celebration. Do some drumming and a little bonding as men. We rebuilt the throne, piling up fallen stone and honoring the King's place. We later went off in search of the right tree to sacrifice for the Maypole.

The men were not in agreement of what kind of tree to use; live or long since dead. One man lost patience and started chopping on a fallen tree near by. The rest conceded to join in, but deception was afoot, since the men were clearly directed by the May Queen to bring back a live tree. It was clear to all that this tree was long since dead. The men debarked it and carved meaningful symbols in it. They also carved the phallus at the base that will go in the hole the women are digging. Yes, it was meant to be very symbolic.

Women's Mysteries
The women had a good and cohesive discussion about this 'Live tree -v- dead tree' issue, and what the May Queen felt was needed for the health of this community. They had a vote, and decided it was important not accept the Maypole if the men brought back a tree that was not alive at the time it was taken. They worked together to dig and prepare the sacred hole for the Maypole, even though there are only pictures of Tia and the May Queen working on it. It is plenty symbolic of the Yoni, as you can see.

This pole was accepted on false pretence, and the women danced the pole to energize it like never before. Even a few secure men danced with the women over the huge phallus of lies.

The Women then prepared the ribbons for the pole by laying them out and cutting them in strips. Then attaching them to the Maypole before it can be erected.
